Meet Brooke, Founder of Distant Light
I’m Brooke, a wife, mom, and follower of Christ. This long distance journey began with the autism diagnosis of our youngest son when he was two and a half. The Lord has laid it on my heart to create safe spaces, share resources, and provide biblical encouragement to families like ours – and maybe like yours too. As a mom who has been running this race for years, I know how much turnover as a parent you will face in your resources. I am committed to being your constant as you persevere and run your race with endurance.

Mission of Distant Light Ministry
Safe Spaces & Places
Distant Light Ministry is committed to helping provide safe spaces for families of those with Intellectual or Developmental diagnosis, advocating for their needs, and providing spiritual, emotional, and practical support —grounded in the love and truth of Christ. We aim to empower caregivers to build both a spiritual toolkit and a resources network that aids in their child’s development and their own well-being. We walk alongside families as they navigate everyday places—schools, churches, parks, restaurants, and beyond—encouraging inclusiveness & understanding.
Resources
Just as marathoners prepare for the long race, we help families gather the spiritual, emotional, and practical tools they need to endure with strength and grace. Through faith-based resources, community partnerships, and encouragement rooted in Scripture, we equip families to run their race with confidence, knowing they are never alone and that Christ runs beside them every step of the way.
Community
Distant Light Ministry is working towards the creation of a farm-based community where adults with intellectual and developmental diagnosis can live, work, worship, and thrive. By raising funds to purchase a farm, the organization will aims to provide 24/7 care in a shared farmhouse for those who need it, while offering semi-independent living in campers for others. Participants will contribute to the farm through gardening, landscaping, animal care, equipment maintenance, and producing goods for sale, fostering self-sufficiency and purpose. The farm will also offer equine and occupational therapy, along with a place of worship to support spiritual and emotional well-being in a nurturing, inclusive environment.
